726,908. Machinery safety devices. INDUSTRIAL GUARDING EQUIPMENT, Ltd. Feb. 20, 1953 [Feb. 20, 1952], No. 4426/52. Class 80 (4). In a mechanical power press having a guard comprising a hinged portion 3 and an interconnected sliding portion 4, a control device 40, such as a pneumatic valve or an electric switch, for the clutch actuating mechanism of the press is provided on the guard frame and adapted to be engaged by an abutment 42 on the slidable guard portion 4 when said guard portion is in its fully closed position only to allow the press clutch to be actuated. The application of the invention to the pneumatic pressure clutch key actuating mechanism of Specification 697,284 is described. Specification 712,054 also is referred to.
