727,073. Machinery guards. JESSHOPE, Ltd. Oct. 26, 1953 [Oct. 29, 1952], No. 27142/52. Class 80 (4). A box-like guard structure b<SP>1</SP> adapted to surround the dies c of a power press or like machine is operated by a lever e pivoted at a<SP>2</SP> for moving to and from the closed position. When the guard is in the closed position, the lever e closes a switch f in the circuit of an electro-magnetic clutch (not shown) for operating the press. This clutch circuit is also under the control of the normal manual operating mechanism. Thus the guard must be closed before the press can be operated and raising of the guard stops the press.
