609,042. Compressed air valves. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. Jan. 10, 1946, No. 900. Convention date, Jan. 12, 1945. [Class 135] A compressed air valve for electric circuitbreakers has a valve member 4 provided with an annular membrane 9 of rubber or like elastic organic material pressed against a metallic valve seat 10 mainly by the air pressure, a shoulder 8 in the valve housing limiting the movement of the valve member itself and so preventing any appreciable force being applied to the membrane. The latter is clamped between a valve spindle 5 and a spring-loaded cylinder 6 having a flange 7 which engages the shoulder 8 in the closed position of the valve. Compressed air has constant access to the cylinder through an opening 11. The spindle 5 also carries an exhaust valve 13. The two valves are actuated manually or otherwise by an extension 15 of the spindle 5. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, the valve seat may be flat and smooth or may have an annular ridge. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
