Convention date, Jan. 13, 1940 [Class 135] A safety device for electrical apparatus with compressed air insulation, particularly voltage and current transformers which are equipped with a safety element responsive to excess pressure, such as a frangible diaphragm 4, and to which compressed air is supplied through a non- return valve has the valve opening 8 in the non- return valve 7 arranged to lie in the direction in which the safety element opens under excess pressure. By this arrangement fresh compressed air entering through the non-return valve escapes directly through the broken diaphragm to atmossphere.
