Abstract

726,547. Sheet-delivery apparatus. FABER & SCHLEICHER AKT.-GES. Jan. 29, 1953 [Feb. 9, 1952], No. 2604/53. Class 100(1). Receivers.-In a device for stocking sheets, a grate having a transverse member may be removably introduced into the device between guides in the region of elements which stop and align the sheets delivered on to the grate, the stop elements upon introduction or removal of the grate being movable by the transverse member, into a position in which allows passage of the transverse member, and being automatically returned into their operative position after such passage of the transverse member. As shown, the apparatus comprises a conveyer 1 (Fig. 1) for stacking sheets on a table where they are deposited between front stops 9 and side stops 25, the latter being reciprocated by any known means. After the stack 3 of sheets has reached a predetermined height the table 2 is manually lowered far enough to enable an auxiliary table in the form of a grate 5 to be slid along supporting rails 4. The grate comprises slats 5a united by cross-pieces 7, 8. In order to avoid obstruction by the front stops 9 the latter are made in two parts 11, 12, the part 11 being turnable on a shaft 10 while the parts 12 are adapted to rock about a shaft 13 which is capable of swinging movement about a pivot 17. Thus the cross-piece 8 encounters the plate 12 on being pushed into position (Fig. 2) and causes it to rock about the shaft 13 under the action of a spring 14 which biases the parts into closed position. When the grate 5 is withdrawn the parts 12 together with shaft 13 rock about the point 17 (Fig. 3). For this purpose the shaft 13 is journalled in arms 15 pivoted at 17 to a lever 16 fast on the shaft 10. Also fixed on the shaft 10 is a lever 20 which serves to oscillate the front stops so as to align the sheets. The oscillating motion is imparted to the lever 20 by a cam mechanism 21, 22, 24.
