Abstract

724,669. Tyre chains. VENOGE SOC. ANON. Feb. 3, 1953 [Sept. 18, 1952], No. 3006/53. Class 144 (2). An anti-skid chain of the chain-ladder type has its ends connected at one side of the wheel by a hook 5 and at the other side of the wheel by a spring 7 which is hooked to one end 11 of the chain and has an eye 22 engageable by a tensioning lever 17 pivoted to a carrier member 6 secured to the other end 9 of the chain, the member 6 having a stirrup 19 pivoted thereto to lock the lever 17 in operative or tensioning position as shown in Fig. 1. The tensioning lever pivot may be headed for wrench operation.
