715,712. Vehicle fittings. BLACKBURN & GENERAL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., PROWER, W. C., and ROWE, N. E. June 24, 1953 [May 30, 1952], No. 13860/52. Class 78 (4) Means for securing a vehicle wheel comprises a closed loop of chain passing over the tyre and a strain line with a single tensioning device connected to a support at one or two points. As shown in Fig. 1, the loop of chain 1 engaging the tyre is tensioned by a device 3 in a chain 2 secured to a hook 4 on the support which may be a vehicle such as an aircraft. The loop 5 has a ring through which passes a cable secured to a chain 8, 9 having a tensioning device 10 and secured to hooks 11 and 12 on the support. The chain may be specially constructed with projections to grip the tyre.
