Abstract

1,251,956. Vehicle hitches. P. W. WOODING. 9 Jan., 1969 [29 Dec., 1967], No. 59055/67. Heading B7T. A hitch for use between a pair of road vehicles connected by a tow bar 16 comprises a pair of horizontally spaced pulleys 20 connected to one vehicle by brackets 22 and having passed round them a rope or cable 30 which is connected to the other vehicle by hooks, snap links or eyes 32, the tension in said cable being adjustable by means 34. The pulleys may be braked by increasing the load on spring urged pads 28, the hitch thereby limiting snaking. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,101,404.
