Abstract
1,075,356. Tractor/trailer hitches. MASSEYFERGUSON G.m.b.H. Jan. 28, 1964 [Feb. 8, 1963], No. 5336/63. Heading B7T. A tractor 1 pivotally mounts a hook member 2 without lateral play and supports a spring catch 4 having a boss 12 which when a trailer coupled to the tractor overturns relative to the tractor allows an eye 3 fast on the trailer to twist out of and uncouple from the hook 8 against the action of the spring 4. The boss 12 is truncated to assist the eye to ride over the hook curved surfaces 8A, 13A so that the eye may slip over the tip of the hook. In a modification the eye may be mounted on the tractor and an inverted or downwardly opening hook mounted on the trailer.
