1405258 Drawbars A R EDWARDS 15 Feb 1973 [13 May 1972] 22565/72 Heading B7T A drawbar for connecting a heavy attachment such as a roller to a towing hitch on a tractor or on another attachment, comprises a box-like first member 10 adapted to be fixed at end 11 to the attachment and a second member 21 mounted in (as shown) or on the first member to occupy either a connecting position, as in Fig. 3, in which limited relative lateral movement between the members 10 and 21 is possible, or a towing position in which the members 10 and 21 engage one another to prevent the relative lateral movement. The members 10 and 21 may be locked in the towing position by a pivotal locking member 15, the member 21 having an end 23 which projects from the member 10 and carries a hitching eye 24. A wider part 22 of member 21 carries a plate 25 which projects through openings 13 in the side walls of member 10. The projecting ends of the plate 25 are engaged by lugs 18 of the locking member 15 when the end 23 of member 21 is pulled through an open end 12 of member 10 to the towing position, Fig. 4 (not shown). The locking member may be held down with its cross member 17 in contact with the top of member 10 by passing a bolt or pin through a shackle (20) which projects upwardly from the member 10 through a slot (19) in member 17, Fig. 1 (not shown).
