Abstract
1,134,414. Rope etc. tensioning devices. W. J. S. HOSKING. 12 June, 1967 [10 March, 1966], No. 10602/66. Heading F2G. In tightening a rope etc, one end of the rope is passed through or around a fixed member 7, such as a ring or a pulley, and fixed to an intermediate portion of a lever 3 and the rope is clamped between one end 2 of the lever and a clamping member 5, which may be U-shaped, pivotally mounted on the lever, after which the lever is swung about the end 2 through approximately 90 degrees in a direction to draw the rope further through or around the member 7. There may be a pivotally mounted hook 9 adapted to engage the rope and attach the lever thereto in the fully tightened state of the rope.
