Abstract

1,252,024. Clamps. W. P. SCHMITT. 13 Jan., 1969 [14 March, 1968], No. 1952/69. Heading E2B. A band clamp comprises a body part 51 adapted to be fixed to a support 54 by means of a pin or screw 53 passed through an opening 52 in the body part 51, and a flexible tie 50 having one end fixed to the body part and a free end provided with a fastening element 57 for engagement with a complementary element 58 on the body part, the opening 52 in the body part being provided in a central portion 62 connected to an outer portion 63 through a collar forming a relatively thin membrane 64. As shown the membrane 64 allows the portion 62 to follow any misalignment due to the pin or screw being driven in askew.
