Abstract
724,575. Fusible cut-outs. FERGUSON PAILIN, Ltd. March 27, 1953, No. 8570/53. Addition to 563,600. Class 38 (1). In a modification of the cartridge fuse of the parent Specification, an end plate 4 fitted to one or both ends of a barrel 1 is formed with a central aperture embracing a circle of fusible elements 21, the ends of which are passed through its aperture, bent over and soldered or brazed to the outer face of the plate. A bridging member may extend across the aperture for the attachment of a terminal tag 8. Where it is desired to employ a further ring of fusible elements 3<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 2, a second ring-shaped end plate 6 is soldered or brazed to plate 4 over an annular region and the elements 3<SP>1</SP> are secured thereto as in the case of elements 21, the diameter of the aperture in plate 6 being such that elements 3<SP>1</SP> are located inwardly of elements 2<SP>1</SP>. In this case the bridging member 6<SP>1</SP> extends across plate 6.
