Abstract
722,134. Stud and socket fasteners. ETABLISSEMENTS E. JAEGER. June 11, 1952 [June 11, 1951], No. 14698/52. Class 44. [Also in Group XXXVI] A lamp holder for mounting in an aperture 3 in a panel 4 comprises Figs. 1, 2, 5, a tubular metal body 1 having pressed-out tongues 5 and projections 9, the free ends 7 of the tongues 5 being so shaped that upon presentation of the holder to the aperture the tongues are flexed inwards and then spring outwards whereby the panel 4 is gripped between the projections 9 and tongue ridges 6. Since the body 1 extends beyond the free ends 7, the holder is guided during its insertion into the aperture. In modifications Figs. 3, 4, (not shown) the tongues 5 are formed separately of, and secured to, the body 1. According to the construction of Figs. 8, 10, the body comprises a hollow metal moulding 26 having two pairs of grooves 28, 29 and 30, 31, on the exterior thereof, accommodating, respectively U-shaped wire springs 32, 33, held in position by an insulating disc 34. The holder is held in a panel aperture by ridges 36 on the springs 32, 33 and projections 39 on the body 26, as in the first described embodiment. In modifications Figs. 13-15, (not shown) the springs comprise strip members there being either four strips fixed separately at their lower ends to a moulded metal body, or the four strips may be integrally united at their lower ends and secured to the body by a disc 34, as in Fig. 8. According to Fig. 17, the holder body 55 is insulating and has a metal lining 56 contacting the spring wires 32, 33, which are fixed by a metal cap 57 fitted on an integral flange 58 of the body.
