Abstract
722,113. Fluid flow indicators. SMITHS JACKING SYSTEMS, Ltd. Jan. 22, 1953 [Jan. 22, l952], No.1759/52. Class 69 (1). A fluid flow indicator adapted to be connected between a relief valve and a liquid supply tank of a hydraulic apparatus comprises an inlet 15 for connection with the valve and an outlet 26 for connection with the tank. In the housing is a plug 14 having an axial bore 17 and crossbores 19, 20 through which the liquid passes, and a pointed end 13. Threaded in the bore 17 is a block 22 with a small duct 23. This plug is normally restrained in the position shown by a spring 24, but when liquid flows through the relief valve the pressure established causes the pointed end of the plug to engage bolt 12 and thus close a circuit through a warning lamp (not shown).
