Class 20 (4) A rolled bar for reinforcing concrete &c. has a solid section with a continuous curvilinear profile and has an exterior comprising a series of convex surfaces 4 interconnected by concave surfaces 3 the convex surfaces being arranged symmetrically about the bar axis and having a radius of curvature smaller than the radius of the circle circumscribing the convex surfaces, and the concave surfaces having projecting transverse ribs 5 spaced along the bar with the profiles of the ribs lying within the circumference of the circumscribing circle. The longitudinal edges of the bar may be straight or curved, for example, in a right or left hand spiral, or successive lengths of the bar may have alternate left and right hand spirals. The profile of each rib merges into the adjacent convex surfaces.
