Abstract

1,002,294. Shell roofs. W. J. SILBERKUHL; U KASTL AND E. HAEUSSLER. Oct. 30, 1963 [Nov. 28, 1962], No. 42745/63. Heading E1V. Reinforced concrete roof shells 1, curved longitudinally to the arc of a circle, and transversely generally parabolically, are constructed thicker along their longitudinal axes than along their longitudinal edges. In Figs 6 and 7 the short end edges 2 are constructed flat, and in Fig. 7 the whole cross-section thickens towards the shell ends. A typical reinforcement pattern is shown in Fig. 8, with upper and lower meshes 4, 5 and prestressing rods formed into diagonal straps 6.
