Abstract
1,267,474. Reinforcements for concrete beams. BAU-STAHLGEWEBE G.m.b.H. 8 April, 1970 [11 April, 1969], No. 16606/70. Heading E1W. A beam is reinforced by a lower stirrup cage 2 and an upper stirrup cage 3, each of which is bent from a plane mat strip, the cages being arranged so that the respective limbs overlap. Each stirrup cage is provided at the free ends of its limbs with continuous longitudinal rods 4, 5, and additional reinforcing rods e.g. rods 6 may also be provided. If the cages are of equal width they may be arranged only partly within each other (Fig. 3). In the embodiments of Figs. 4-8 the limbs of the respective stirrup cages lie in the same vertical plane and the longitudinal rods are provided on the inside or outside of the cages.
