A concrete-reinforcing grid comprises a series of longitudinal rods 1 and transverse rods 2, the innermost longitudinal rods being spaced by a distance D and the outermost by a smaller distance d. The transverse rods are bent at 2a to overlap the outermost transverse rod la. The transverse rods may be replaced by rods having a "ladder" type of construction. In a modification not shown the four outermost longitudinal rods on each side of the grid are spaced by the distance d.
