Abstract
718,942. Anodizing aluminium. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Jan. 15, 1953, [Feb. 4, 1952.] No. 1177/53. Class 41. [Also in Group XXII] An aluminium or aluminium base alloy pattern has an anodized surface layer preferably from 0.0001 to 0.0002 inch thick. The layer may be applied by means of an aqueous solution containing by volume 20 per cent sulphuric acid and 5 per cent oxalic acid, the pattern being, immersed at 80 ‹F. for up to 30 minutes, a voltage of 12-20 volts D.C. being applied to the pattern as an anode.
