Abstract
1359770 Anodizing electrolyte for Al ISOVOLTA OSTERREICHISCHE ISOLIERSTOFFWERKE A G 1 May 1972 [18 May 1971] 20231/72 Heading C7B A method of anodizing an Al or Al alloy part uses an electrolyte containing an alkaline silicate and an organic complex forming substance with A.C., D.C. or pulsed voltage. The alkaline silicate may be sodium silicate in 0À1-15 wt per cent. The organic substance may be 0À1-40 wt per cent of a primary, secondary or tertiary amine such as mono-, di- or tri-ethanolamine. It may also be the salt of a carboxylic acid, an amino acid, a sulphonic acid, or a polyhydric phenol, a polyhydric alcohol or a mixture thereof. Numerous examples are given.
