Abstract

717,464. Spray-producers. SPRAYING SYSTEMS CO. Oct. 30, 1952, No. 27288/52. Class 69 (3) A spray nozzle includes a tip part 17 with a passage 19 leading from a cavity 18, the passage 19 having a dome shaped end with an elongated discharge orifice 21 extending across this end. The orifice may be arranged at the base of a groove 22 extending across the outer face of the nozzle tip, which groove includes sloping parts 23. The orifice width varies along its length, and is formed partly by a V-shaped cutter extending across a part 37 and intersecting the dome-shaped end of the passage 19 to form the narrow end of the orifice, and partly by a rounded end cutter extending across a part 35 and intersecting the end of the said passage to form the wide end. The nozzle tip is secured, together with a strainer 24, within a nozzle body 15, Fig. 3, and two such nozzles are secured in an angularly adjustable manner by a bolt and nut 47, 48, to a fitting 38. The two nozzles are arranged so that the spray from the narrow ends of their outlets overlap.
