Abstract
717,313. Mechanical switches, without quickaction. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES), Ltd., J. June 17. 1952 [March 22, 1951], No. 6854/51. Class 38(5) A switch, particularly for dimming motor cycle headlamps, comprises a fixed tubular part a which may be part of the handlebar, an angularly-movable contact-carrying part d and a tubular operating member h, which may be the handlebar grip. The part d carries three contact plungers f co-operating with three fixed contacts c, the movement of part d being limited by a pin j, connecting parts d and h, and moving in a slot k in part a. Unintentional operation is prevented by the engagement of a pin u, attached to a spring-pressed slidable block m, in an arcuate slot r formed in member h.
