Abstract

592,160. Snap-action switches. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO., Ltd., and NEEDHAM, V. E. May 24, 1945, No. 12978. [Class 38 (v)] A dimming switch for a cycle head lamp, actuated by rotation of the handlegrip, comprises an insulating bush 59 fixed to the handlebar 3 and carrying three spring plunger contacts 71, 73, 75, which engage recesses in a movable contact plate 63 carried by an arcuate projection 57 on an insulating ring 55 on the handlegrip 41, so as to connect the middle contact 71 to either of the two outer contacts 73, 75. The bush 59 may also carry a horn button 65. In Fig. 1, (not shown) the moving contact is pivoted on an annular dished spring ring, rotated by the handlegrip and surrounding the handlebar within the fixed insulating bush, the latter having locating recesses co-operating with a tongue on the ring.
