Abstract
580,701. Snap-action switches. SHARP, W. July 18, 1944, No. 13687. [Class 38 (v)] When movement of a cam (not shown) allows an operating lever 2 to rise, the movable contact 13, which is carried by a link 5 pivoted to the lever 2 at 6, slides from the full to the dotted line position before leaving the fixed contact 14. The contact 13 is fixed to a block 7 having trunnions 8 whereby it pivots about the link 5. The block 7 carries a pin 10 surrounded by a spring urging it to the left. As the lever 2 rises, pivoting about an axis 3, the link 5 is bodily moved to the left causing the sliding of the contacts. Then the axis 6 passes the line of the spring 12 which then acts to open the contacts with a snap action.
