Class 39(1) The apertured accelerating anode of an electron gun is adjustable laterally to give a small transverse variation in the position of the beam. The flat plate anode 10 is held against a spring strip 15 by a pair of screws 12 passing through vacuum-tight rubber seals 14 in the tubular housing 13 of the gun.
