Abstract
An elastomeric diisocyanate modified polyester or polyesteramide is cured by reacting it with a polyisocyanate in presence of magnesium oxide. The elastomers are preferably those of Specifications 694,978, 694,982, 696,449 and 696,450. In examples mixtures were prepared comprising (1) the elastomer of Ex. 2 of Specification 694,982, 4,41-diphenylene diisocyanate and magnesium oxide and (2) the elastomer of Ex. 2 of Specification 694,978, 2, 4-tolylene diisocyanate and magnesium oxide. The mixtures were then heated at temperatures between 240 DEG F. and 320 DEG F. for periods between 5 and 30 minutes to effect curing of the elastomer.
