Abstract

Cellular polyurethanes are obtained by reacting polyisocyanates with hydroxyl group containing polymers in the presence of a catalyst of at least one tertiary amine salt of lactic acid. A list of suitable tertiary amines, to form the salt by reaction with lactic acid, in a solvent if necessary, is given. Optional additions to the polyurethane reaction are water, the condensates of Specification 879,166 and trib -chloroethyl phosphate. Specification 839,185 also is referred to.ALSO:Cellular polyurethanes are obtained by reacting polyisocyanates with hydroxyl group containing polymers in the presence of a catalyst of at least one tertiary amine salt of lactic acid. A list of suitable tertiary amines, to form the salt by reaction with lactic acid, in a solvent if necessary, is given. Optional additions to the polyurethane reaction are water, the condensates of Specification 879,166 and tri b chloroethyl phosphate. Specification 839,685 also is referred to.
