Abstract

A method of bonding particles of foamed material comprises coating them with a mixture of the component materials for a polyether-type polyurethane, pressing together the coated particles and subsequently transforming the component materials into foamed polyurethane by subjecting the coated particles to the action of dry steam. The particles can be of polyester or polyether urethane, rubber latex foam or sponge rubber. The component materials for the polyether-type polyurethane can be employed as such or in the form of a prepolymer, suitably together with N-methyl morpholine, silicone oil, dibutyl tin dilaurate, and p-t-butyl catechol. The dry steam can be applied to the coated particles through holes in the mould in which they are pressed together or by putting the mould into an autoclave through which dry steam is passed under pressure. Specification 898,272 is referred to.ALSO:A method of bonding particles of foamed material comprises coating them with a mixture of the component materials for a polyether-type polyurethane pressing together the coated particles and subsequently transforming the component materials into foamed polyurethane by subjecting the coated particles to the action of dry steam.
