Abstract

714,097. Pipe connections. FIREPROOF TANKS, Ltd. Jan. 16, 1953 [Feb. 1, 1952], No. 2776/52. Class 99 (1). Annular gaskets 6 which surround apertures in the walls 5 of flexible fuel tanks are pressed against annular abutments by clamping rings 7 connected by a draw-bolt 11, the rings or gaskets being provided with at least one annular rib 8. The outer periphery of each ring 7 may be turned inwardly to engage the edge of the projecting gasket, and the gaskets may be cemented to the walls of the tanks or moulded as local thickenings of the walls. The abutments may comprise flanges 3 formed on a tube 1 projecting into the tanks. In a modification, the ribs 8 of the gaskets comprise annular beads accommodated in grooves formed in the rings 7, Fig. 5 (not shown). Specification 691,622 is referred to.
