Abstract
714,017. Pistons. STEWART-WARNER CORPORATION. Sept. 18, 1952. No. 23506/52. Class 122(1) [Also in Group XXVIII] An atmospheric pressure operated follower for use with a pump used to evacuate grease from a drum comprises a conical annular member 26 of synthetic rubber-like material, such as Neoprene, having its hub portion moulded to a metal insert 28 bored to slide on a tube sealingly engaged by flange portions 32. 34 of the follower extending from the insert. The rim of the follower is formed by a flat annulus 36 and torroidal ribs 38 and 40. The external diameter of the follower may be reduced by severing therefrom either the annulus 36 or the annulus and the outer rib 38.
