591,698. Oil seals. COGGINS, W. T. May 5, 1945, No. 11470. [Class 122 (v)] In making an oil sealing ring comprising an annular body 1 of moulded rubber &c. reinforced by a ring 5 of metal or other rigid material embedded therein to resist lateral pressure, the reinforcing ring is cut from a tube, and may have tongues or projections thereon or be slit or notched to provide an anchorage for the rubber.
