713,843. Toothed gearing. CHAMBON, Ltd. April 9, 1951 [April 7, 1950], No. 8232/51. Class 80 (1) A gear 18 on a driven shaft 19 is driven at a cyclically varying speed from a carrier member 13, 14 secured to a hollow-driving shaft' 12 rotatably mounted upon the shaft 19. The gear 18 is engaged by a gear segment 17 on an arm secured to a gear 23 pivoted on an axle 15 of the carrier 13, 14. Also pivoted on the carrier is a gear 24 in mesh with the gear 23 and controlled by an arm 26 having a pin 27 engaged in a camslot in a stationary disc 30. Thus a direct drive from the shaft 12 to the gear 13 through the segment 17 is modified by the movement of the gear 24 derived .from the cam slot to give a cyclic variation. This variation may be sufficient if desired to reduce the apeed of the driven gear 18 to zero.
