Class 52(2) [Also in Group XXXII] Seats in an ambulance are provided with channel bars C which may support a stretcher D when the seat backs B are pivoted about points a<SP>2</SP> to lie horizontally as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2. In normal seating position, clips b<SP>4</SP> retain pivoted U-shaped legs b<SP>3</SP> close to the seat backs, which backs are held by pivoted stays b. but in the collapsed position the backs are horizontally supported by the legs, with arm rests B<SP>1</SP> pivoted to lie parallel to the backs.
