711,857. Railway stops. CLARKE ELLARD ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and CLARKE, A. H. May 26, 1952 [May 25, 1951]. No. 12271/51. Addition to 703,061. Class 104 (2) The stop mechanism of the parent Specification in which a stop is actuated from a slidable push - rod 4 operated by a cam 10a, when overhead runways A, B are moved into alignment 'has the push rod arranged to rotate a rock-shaft 14 about a vertical axis so as to move a plate 19 attached to the shaft 14 from a position in which the plate normally projects into the carriage path to a position out of the carriage path when the runways A, B are aligned. A cam follower 9 mounted on the end of the rod 4 rides up a ramp 11a or 12a of a cam 10a as the runway A or B is traversed into alignment with the runway B or A and is pressed by a spring 6 into a shallow recess 13a in the apex of cam 10a to hold but not to lock the runways in alignment. The shafts 14, mounted one on each side of runways A, B in brackets 2, are operatively connected by crank pins 16 through links 17 to a collar 8 on the rod 4 As shown in Fig. 1, the mechanism is duplicated and mounted one above the other on the end of each runway A and B.
