Abstract

1424780 Latches ROBERT KRAUSE KG 14 Sept 1973 [16 Sept 1972] 43204/73 Heading E2A [Also in Divisions A4 and F2] A spring-loaded latching device comprises a plunger 5, movable between an inward position and an outward position; an ejection spring 20 urging the plunger outwards; a lever 22 mounted alongside the plunger 5 and having a pivot spring 25 urging it both to pivot about and to slide along an axis 23 transverse to the plunger 5; a projection 40 on the plunger 5; a first control face 29 engageable with the projection 40 as the plunger 5 is moved from the outward position to the inward position; a stop face 30 engageable with the projection 40 to latch the plunger 5 in the inward position; a second control face 35 engageable with the projection 40 when the plunger 5 is moved further inwardly from the inward position; a bearing face 36 extending along the lever 22 from the second control face 35 to the first control face 29 and engageable with the projection 40 as the plunger 5 moves from the inward position to the outward position under the action of the ejection spriring 20. Figs. 2 and 3 show the second control face 35 as the concave surface of a projection 33; it serves to guide the free end of the projection 40 which is in the form a pin onto the bearing face 36, the required associated movement of the lever 22 being allowed by a pivot pin 24 and the pivot spring 25. Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) illustrate a second embodiment in which the second control face 35a is provided by a tongue 37a.
