Abstract

711,598. Rotary brushing apparatus. SWINNERTONS, Ltd., BLOORE, R. B., and SERVICE (ENGINEERS), Ltd. Feb. 29, 1952 [March 29, 1951], No. 7270/51. Class 19 A brushing machine comprises a concave and a convex cylindrical brush rotating in the same or in opposite directions about horizontal axes one above the other, one brush being mounted so that it will yield to the article passing between them. The machine shown is for brushing saucers delivered and removed by conveyer belts. The upper brush rotates at half the speed of the lower and is mounted on a pivoted arm so that it may rise from the normal position determined by a handwheel adjuster to accommodate the article being brushed. According to the Provisional Specification one brush may rise against spring or counterwieght pressure. Specification 571,356 is referred to.
