Abstract

608,550. Rug-making frame. BLACKHAM, A. A. Feb. 26, 1946, No. 6024. [Class 142(iv)] The backing 16 is supported by a conveyer belt 7 of such a contour that a bend is produced in the backing at the working position so that the last formed row of tufts lean away from the operator. The backing is carried by a roller 15 provided with brakes adjustable by wing nuts 21. The conveyer belt may be omitted or a fixed guide surface substituted for it. A wide rug can be made on a number of such frames joined end to end. Specifications 585,949 and 598,025 are referred to.
