887,929. Feeding fibres to heckling machines. NOVIVLAS N.V. Sept. 15, 1960 [Sept. 16, 1959], No. 31840/60. Class 120(1) Bundles of bast fibre stalks are deposited on or across a conveyer belt 9 of a heckling machine by two transfer flaps 4, 5 which, when in a horizontal position, form a substantially continuous plane with the adjoining edges of the flaps situated over the conveyer belt and which can swing about axes 6, 7 located on either side of the conveyer belt 9 to allow the fibre bundles to fall on or across the belt. The fibre bundles 3 are delivered at regular intervals by rollers 2 and slide across the flaps 4, 5 until arrested by one of two adjustable stops 8, whereupon the flaps, actuated by a Geneva wheel 12, rotate to allow the fibre bundle 3 to contact the belt 9. Further rotation of the flaps 4, 5 releases the fibre bundle so that it freely lies across the conveyer 9.
