Abstract

The articles (17) to be packed arrive at the batch regulator in single file (16) on a conveyor and pass between the adjustable sides of a mobile arm (2). This arm is positioned to form the batch into a row, the articles activating a switch (23) as they pass. When the impulses reach a predetermined number, one row is full and the mobile arm moves across into position for the next tow. When all the rows (18, 19, 20) are full and the batch completed, a conveyor belt removes the articles through flap doors (21, 22), ready for placing in the packing case.
