1,013,420. Grinding. SERVICE (ENGINEERS) Ltd. Feb. 12, 1962 [Oct. 17, 1961], No. 33329/65. Divided out of 1,013,419. Drawings to Specification. Heading B3D. The subject-matter of this Specification is included in that described in Specification 652,965, but the claims are directed to a machine for towing articles of ceramic flat-ware comprising a rotatable work support, means for rotating the work support, a towing device adapted to support a towing element having a workengaging surface contoured complementarily to the surface of an article to be towed supported by the work support, means for effecting relative movement of approach between the work support and the towing device, whereby in the operation of the machine a towing element supported by the towing device is caused to engage the surface of an article supported by the work support, and means for causing the towing device to reciprocate in such a manner that a towing element supported thereby is caused to reciprocate through a small amplitude along a path normal to the direction of the axis of rotation of the work support.
