Abstract
711,178. Valve generating circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and SIMPSON, A. I. F. Feb. 13, 1953 [Feb. 26, 1952], No. 5078/52. -Class 40 (6) A crystal controlled valve oscillator has the crystal 9 connected between the -control grid and a point on an impedance connected between an H.T. source and a further grid situated between the control grid and the anode, the output being derived 'from the anode and an automatic amplitude control voltage being applied to the control grid and obtained by rectifying a voltage proportional to the anode circuit voltage. The point on the further grid impedance is so chosen that the maximum safe potential across the crystal is not exceeded and the circuit may therefore be arranged to produce a large output without overdriving the crystal. The crystal shown comprises two 5‹, X cut plates bonded together and operating in a flexure mode, the internal electrode being connected to earth through a capacitor 11 which may be adjusted to vary the frequency of operation. The anode load comprises a circuit tuned to the fundamental or a harmonic frequency of the crystal. A delay voltage may be introduced into the circuit of the amplitude control rectifier by the alternative connection 23.
