Abstract

711,021. Cathode-ray tubes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Oct. 8, 1952 [Oct. 26, 1951], No. 25252/52. Class 39(1) [Also in Group XXXV] An electromagnetic deflection yoke assembly for a cathode-ray tube, consists of a magnetic core made up of a number of sections 15-18 placed end to end and held in abutting relationship together, and deflection coils 19-22 wound toroidally around the core and so located as to extend over the joints a, b between the sections. A non-magnetic shield surrounding the yoke is made up of similar sections 23-26. Each shield section such as 23, Fig. 3, receives and holds in place the pile' of laminations making up the corresponding yoke section 15. A clamp 28 is forced over the complete unit to lock the elements in place. The yoke shown is rectangular, but may be circular or elliptical.
