Abstract

Bitumen adhesion assistants comprise aqueous creosote oil solutions containing at least 20 per cent. by weight of tetra-alkyl ammonium halides having a straight chain containing at least 8 carbon atoms the amount of water being sufficient to maintain the solution fluid at normal temperatures. Cetyl tri methyl ammonium bromide is specified, in proportion, between 20 and 43 per cent. The minimum amount of water varies from 2 per cent. or 20 to 15 per cent. at 43.
