Abstract

1,242,202. Treating coke. BERGWERKSVERBAND G.m.b.H. 12 Jan., 1970, No. 1447/70. Heading C5G. Coke, especially shaped coke, is impregnated with a 5% to 30% aqueous boric acid solution at a temperature in the range 50‹ to 100‹ C. to reduce the reactivity and increase the abrasion resistance of the coke. The coke itself is preferably at a temperature in the range 100‹ to 300‹ C. during impregnation, which in specific examples is by dipping.
