Abstract

710,478. Filters. BLACK-CLAWSON CO. July 10, 1952 [July 11, 1951], No. 17403/52. Class 46 A rotary suction filter drum has a circumferential row of longitudinally extending cells 1, disposed within a cylindrical strainer 10, having outlets 2 leading to the inside of the drum and guide surfaces 4 which are inclined forwardly from the outlets as seen in the direction of motion of the drum for conducting the straining medium to the outlets. The outlets may be staggered as shown or they may be disposed in line in the middle of the drum; they are connected to discharge ducts 3. In another embodiment the cell walls are parallel with the axis of rotation and pockets are inserted in the cells and have inclined rear walls to form the guide surfaces. The cell walls are perforated to allow the liquid to enter the pockets.
