Abstract
626,789. Filters. ABBEY, A. (Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolag). May 23, 1947, No. 13942. [Class 46] A screening drum for fibrous suspensions and intended to rotate in one direction while being partially immersed comprises an outer perforated cylindrical shell 5, Fig. 1, an inner imperforate shell 6, a plurality of longitudinal partitions 7, Fig. 2, between the shells, and discharge ducts 9 communicating between the cells thus formed and the interior of the drum, the discharge ducts being bent backwards in relation to the direction of rotation of the drum and being brought together at one end of the drum to form a plurality of channels located beside one another in the axial direction of the drum. In the embodiment shown, sixteen cells 8 are provided and the discharge ducts are arranged in four channels, four ducts being allotted to each channel. One discharge duct may be common to two or more cells. The channels may be shared symmetrically 'between both ends of the drum, in which case the inner shell 6 tapers from the middle in both directions. A wire screen may be fixed on the outer shell 5.
