Abstract

1400117 Gas washing apparatus U REGEHR 19 Sept 1973 [22 Sept 1972] 43883/73 Heading B1R A gas washing apparatus comprises a towerlike or cylindrical housing 2 with a dirty gas inlet 3, a clean gas outlet 4, a filter bed 5 with jets 6 arranged thereabove for introducing a washing liquid and two batteries of drip-type separators 7 and 8 arranged remote from the bed 5 and from each other, battery 7 consisting of inclined sets of parallel plane rebound surfaces, battery 8 comprising rebound surfaces trapezoidal in vertical section and rinsing jets 9 for delivering a scouring liquid to at least the lower battery 7. In both sets surfaces 12 and 13 are directing grooves 14 chevron shaped when viewed towards the plane of the surfaces. Chamber partition walls 16 are also provided.
