Abstract

710,131. Vehicle roof head linings. AUSTIN MOTOR CO., Ltd. Oct. 10, 1952 [Oct. 12, 1951], No. 23755/51. Class 20 (4) A head lining for motor vehicle roofs comprises one or more panels embodying a light metal frame to which lining material is secured the panels being bowed from a flat condition and sprung into position with edge portions engaging over a shoulder and in a rebate provided on the body. As shown, the shoulder and rebate are formed by bending the upper edge of interior finisher panels 14 to provide horizontal and vertical flanges 15, 16, and the panel frames are made up of beaded edge metal strips 18 and transverse strips 19, the head lining material 21 being passed over the bottom edges of strips 18 and secured to the outward face.
