Abstract

710,097. Builder motions for ring spinning &c. frames. STAMMWITZ, E. April 4, 1951, No. 7840/51. Class 120(2) In order to provide firm cops that unwind easily, an additional motion is given to a ring rail as the cop noses are being formed by lengthening the stroke and increasing the rate of movement of the rail. This is effected by an axially displaceable control shaft 1 mounted on a rocking lever 11 actuated by a builder cam 5, the shaft 1 having fixed upon it a worm 2a in engagement with a worm wheel 2 rotatably mounted on the lever 11 and fixed to a chain drum 3 to which a chain 4 is attached. Means operated in association with the cam 5 are provided for displacing the shaft 1 during upward movement of the ring rail, causing the worm 2a to rotate the wheel 2 to wind the chain 4 on the drum 3. The shaft-displacing means preferably comprises an eccentric disc 7 rotating at a half the speed of the cam 5 and a lever attached to a hub 8a on the shaft 1 and rocked by the disc 7 to turn the hub 8a, thereby displacing the hub through contact of teeth 9, 10 and displacing the shaft 1.
